MONOL cooperates with the nationwide earthquake drill

Mar31 MONOL earthquake drill
Students and staff of MONOL International Education Institute cooperated with the local government of Baguio City during the earthquake drill held on March 31, 2016.

Employees of MONOL International Education Institute joined the second quarter earthquake drill this June 22, 2016.

This drill is in accordance with the recent memorandum of Baguio City Mayor, Mauricio Domogan. Particularly, the memorandum aims to familiarize every resident with the “duck-cover-hold” and evacuation techniques when an earthquake occurs. The execution of the drill is simultaneous nationwide, especially in all public schools.

Last March 31, MONOL also cooperated in the earthquake drill organized by the Office of the Civil Defense in Baguio City.

Looking back, Baguio City was left in destruction after the 7.8 magnitude killer quake on July 16, 1990. A number of buildings collapsed during the said disaster, burying people in those structures alive. The different government units show their concern for the citizens through these drills. Their aim is to decrease, if not avoid, casualties when natural disasters occur.
