Regular ESL Course

In this essay I have written, I am discussing the regular ESL course of Monol, including its structures, features, and advantages.

If you are hoping to improve learning in Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing and Pronunciation, then Monol’s Regular ESL course is tailored to this need. 7 hours of compulsory courses per day are divided into 2 hours of one-on-one Listening classes, 1 hour one-on-one on Reading classes, 2 hours afternoon on Speaking group lessons (4 people), 1 hour of writing group lessons, 1 hour of Pronunciation group lessons. New students take a graded test on Monday of the first week of school to test their Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing skills to determine what courses you should choose. The difficulty of textbooks ranges from beginners to advanced students. There will always have textbooks that are suitable for your level.

Today we will focus on Listening lessons of Monol. Each lesson focuses on a different topic. For example, the topic for today is to introduce a Nobel Peace Prize winner. The text begins with a photo of this person that can guide you to know what probably the subject is. Then there will be two small questions about the content of the text, such as asking, “Have you done a non-rewarding charity?” To start the course with this as the beginning, you can talk to your teacher about your experiences and in that way, you also practice speaking. If there are sentences that you can’t express well, the teacher will help you to do it.

Then coming to Part 2, it is a part that let you listen to the content of the article. The main content is to introduce the person. You can listen to it twice and answer a few questions afterward. For example, what is the content of the recording? Where was the hero born? And so on. Practice listening and then answer questions. This is also training for your speaking skills. The teacher will constantly coach and correct your mistakes that you are accustomed to using regularly. It can also make us get familiarized with the correct English expression.

In the next section, the teacher will pick out some difficult words from the text based on your understanding to explain and let you practice pronunciation. After learning some of the keywords of the lesson, let’s go to the fourth section for summarizing the article exercises. Let’s listen to the article again first. Then the teacher asks us to talk about what we have understood. Then the teacher will write down what you said. You just need to say your understanding based on what had you heard, even if there are some differences from the text does not matter, try to use oral language to express what you heard, the teacher recorded what you said and then correct the sentences. I think this can be a very effective way to let us know what kind of habits we have in spoken expressions. For example, we always miss articles or the tense verbs are used incorrectly.

After the above part of the exercises, we have listened to the contents of the article several times and almost have generally understood the content of the article. In the fifth part, we can see the whole articles, but there are many vacancies in the article. We need to listen again and attempt to fill in the missing words. It is a method to train us to understand the content of the article more accurately.

The sixth part is to practice the pronunciation of several sentences in the article and practice our pronunciation and reading skill. The seventh part is to listen again and understand the full text while watching the full article. The eighth part is to discuss the contents of the articles.

Through these eight-part exercises, we listened to recordings repeatedly while training us in the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Learning foreign languages can only be improved through constant practice to make us remember and use English effectively. The Regular ESL course of Monol is designed to focus on this aspect. Through the entire course, the student can have intensive training by one-on-one classes with their teacher. Also, they can have interactions with other students through group classes. 7 hours of study each day allows us to rapidly improve reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.
