what to expect in monol during the new normal

Seven months into the year 2020, and we still face the daunting impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the overwhelming challenges, we took this opportunity to improve our facilities and services to keep our operations running for the benefit of our employees and the current students still living on the campus.

As the world enters gradually into a new normal, we are also preparing accordingly.

What does the "new normal" look like in MONOL?

More Single/
Double occupancy rooms

When the time comes that borders reopen and studying abroad becomes possible again, we will be ready to deliver our services to make our students feel much safer and comfortable in a post-pandemic environment while living and studying on our campus.

We currently have our standard single rooms and deluxe rooms for two; however, we plan to add more so we can enforce social distancing measures efficiently.

Opening a new Wellness Center

According to experts, the outbreak will impact people’s behavior and relationships significantly. As an institution that values its employees’ and students’ well-being, we have also renovated our fitness facilities to open a new wellness center at the rooftop of our building.

Here, students and employees alike can freely engage in fitness activities and maintain a healthy lifestyle with our without the looming threat of a pandemic.

Monol Online Station and expanded group classrooms

As our 1:1 classrooms are devoid of face-to-face learning for months now, we have converted these into our MONOL ONLINE Station, where our teachers can utilize our classroom setup to simulate the studying abroad experience effectively.

In anticipation of the resumption of face-to-face learning, we are also in the process of expanding our group classrooms to create a more comfortable learning space for the students and teachers.

Training programs for teachers to handle online classes

Apart from the continuing enhancement training programs we provide our teachers to maintain quality teaching for our offline courses, we are also equipping them to transition into remote learning. We ensure that each teacher is capable of using the virtual classroom software and adapt to a new teaching method that would facilitate classes with the same high-quality interaction students can experience in actual classrooms.

At the moment, we have deployed 70% of our teachers to MONOL ONLINE, and we hope to reach the full extent soon. When we open our offline courses once again, all our teachers will be qualified to handle both our face-to-face and online classes.

New Normal

With determination, MONOL was able to keep all services running at the onset of the pandemic. We have accommodated our teachers and service personnel on the campus to cater to the needs of the students who had difficulty going back to their home countries. Classes were uninterrupted, and everyone spent their days inside MONOL comfortably, despite the restriction to leave the school’s premises.

As an appreciation and support to our workforce, we still house some of our employees on the campus, as MONOL ONLINE goes full blast. We have gradually resumed the different operations of our departments, and we commit to continue our services until the last student leaves the academy.

Despite the crisis, MONOL strives to create a safe space for its employees and students while maintaining quality services.
